Hosalkar on Leadership

Being able to lead teams of people is an important quality to have. Leadership is required in almost any industry or group setting, and people who possess the quality are more likely to find prolonged success. Hosalkar has held various leadership positions for the better part of two decades, and he would like to share some ways to be a good leader with his readers.

(1) Be a Good Communicator

According to Hosalkar, all good leadership is rooted in clear communication. This communication can take on many different styles and forms, but the result should always be the same. People should be able to clearly understand what the leader is communicating to the group. Hosalkar makes sure nothing is left assumed, but goes out of his way to explain everything that needs to be done.

(2) Set Expectations

Another thing that must be done clearly is setting expectations. Hosalkar believes good leaders set clear, attainable goals. Hosalkar believes expectations allow people to understand their role, responsibilities, and place within a group or organization. Hosalkar always sets clear expectations from the beginning.

(3) Listen

A good leader will always be willing to listen. Hosalkar respects the people he works with, and he knows that they sometimes have valuable input. Leadership is not always about speaking and directing; sometimes it is about being willing to listen to opinions that are not your own. According to Hosalkar, allowing employees and group members the ability to provide feedback is an important part of healthy leadership.
